The challenge
The challenge was to integrate two distinct lifestyles—a sophisticated city aesthetic and a relaxed, beach-loving vibe—into a single cohesive home while maintaining balance, functionality, and style.

Design solution
We designed a home that reflects the couple’s personalities and daily rhythms. Scandinavian simplicity guided the clean lines and functional layouts, while colonial-inspired tones added warmth and depth. Spaces were carefully curated to allow both shared living and personal retreat areas, providing a seamless blend of elegance and casual comfort.

Materials

  • Natural woods for furniture and flooring, enhancing warmth and texture

  • Soft textiles and upholstery for comfort and relaxation

  • Neutral tones combined with subtle accent colours for visual interest

  • Durable, high-quality finishes to ensure long-lasting elegance

Result
The Journal captures the essence of a young couple’s evolving story, merging sophistication with casual coastal living. Every area of the home supports both shared experiences and individual pursuits, creating a balanced, welcoming, and stylish residence.
