Mauricio Chaves’ journey into design began in Costa Rica, where he first trained as a graphic designer. A curiosity for culture, architecture and visual storytelling later took him to the United States and eventually to Europe.

After moving to the Netherlands in 2014, Mauricio deepened his exploration of interior design, studying at specialised institutions in London and Madrid, and developing a particular interest in antiques and historical objects.

Casa 110 began in 2021 with the development of its market, financial and brand strategy. It was officially registered in the Netherlands in 2023 as Casa 110 Interior Design — a boutique studio dedicated to creating interiors that capture the essence of the people who inhabit them.
