The challenge
The challenge was to integrate two distinct lifestyles—a sophisticated city aesthetic and a relaxed, beach-loving vibe—into a single cohesive home while maintaining balance, functionality, and style.
Design solution
We designed a home that reflects the couple’s personalities and daily rhythms. Scandinavian simplicity guided the clean lines and functional layouts, while colonial-inspired tones added warmth and depth. Spaces were carefully curated to allow both shared living and personal retreat areas, providing a seamless blend of elegance and casual comfort.
Materials
Natural woods for furniture and flooring, enhancing warmth and texture
Soft textiles and upholstery for comfort and relaxation
Neutral tones combined with subtle accent colours for visual interest
Durable, high-quality finishes to ensure long-lasting elegance
Result
The Journal captures the essence of a young couple’s evolving story, merging sophistication with casual coastal living. Every area of the home supports both shared experiences and individual pursuits, creating a balanced, welcoming, and stylish residence.
