Giddy Sloth Coffee is the first step in an ambitious venture to export premium Costa Rican coffee beans to Seattle, with plans to eventually open a cosy café serving a range of coffee-based drinks and traditional Costa Rican pastries in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The design embraces the character of the original structure by incorporating raw materials such as polished cement, iron, and brick, thoughtfully complemented by handcrafted wood, durable textiles, and non-porous surfaces to suit the space’s function. A key architectural feature will be large windows, enhancing natural ventilation in warmer months and maximising daylight on grey, overcast days.
